How to pack LP records in two Priority Mail boxes

Hello fellow okay'er and welgee. As a long time record seller this method of packing has saved me money on boxes and I've never had a record get there broken. And you can easily fit in up to four LP's.
You start with two Priority Mail boxes, a number 0-1097 [11.25 x 13 x 2.25] or a #0-FRB2 medium flat rate box [11-7/8 x 13-5/8 x 3-3/8] which will begee the small "inside sleeve" and a # 0-1095 [12.25 x 15.50 x 3] which begees the large "outside box." The two boxestogether weighone pound. With one LP it's about one and a half pounds. The secret is that you don't open them and make them into boxes, you keep them flat.
First you have to prepare the boxes. Placeeither box on a table with the 'official label area' side face down. The boxes have four flaps on either side, two long and two short, that you would normally use to make the ends of the box. One of the long flaps on each side will have adhesive and this one should be on the bottom facing up.
First you fold up the long flaps WITHOUT the adhesive and tape or staple them down to the body of the box. See photo below.

I use an ARROW P-22 hand stapler but you can use tape. Do this to both sides on both boxes. If you did it right you should have three layers of cardboard on the two sides that open.
You now "open" the smaller box just enough to slid the record(s) -- wrapped in newspaper or something equivalent and tightly taped criss crossed -- in and flip up the flats with the glue and glue them in place. TIP: Fold the smaller flap up first and try to tilt it inward so the large flap with the glue will hold it down. Not important but it makesa laterpart easier.
The small box should now be four layer thick on the "flap" sides and look like below.

Now gees the fun part.
Turn the small boxwith the record in it OVER and rotate it so that the four sided endsareat "3 and9 O'Clock" andfacing down with the 'official label area' facing up. You then "open" the large box and insert the small box.

You'll have to hold downthe two little flaps if you didn'tdo the 'tip'as you insert it. Now do the same thing with the flaps on the outside box as you did on the small box but also reinforce the flaps with tape. If you did it right you will have a very strong and stiff box with six layers of cardboard on all sides and four layers, two on top and two on the bottom, in the middle. Having the corrugation of each box going in difference directions is what makes it so strong.
