It's recent rise in popularity hides the fact that Jig Fishing is one of the worlds oldest fishing techniques via lures. It's origins can be traced back to the early Polynesians and Europeans hundreds of years ago. So we can be sure this type of artificial lure fishing works.In the early 1990s, Yoichi Mogi of Japan reinvented jigging.
